I have tried to be very thorough and accurate in my description but there still may be something I have forgotten or overlooked so please ask any questions you may have and inspect car or have it inspected prior to placing a bid. The undercarriage on this El Camino is very clean, original, straight, solid, and rust free! Bed is in beautiful shape as well. Car has its original SS wheels and nearly new BF Goodrich T/A Radials. Factory power steering and power disc brakes help it to steer and stop with ease. This car runs, sounds, and drives awesome! Engine does not smoke or have any unusual noises and has between 40 and 60psi oil pressure. I did note that the VIN on the transmission appears to have been restamped several times and I'm not sure why but it definitely appears to be original to the car (shown in pic). The Drive Train is the Original and Numbers Matching L78 396/375hp Engine, Muncie M22 Transmission, and KF Code 12 Bolt Rear End. Door buzzer still works! All of the glass and trim is in excellent condition. The seats have a split on the bottoms at a seam. The original black bucket seat console interior is in excellent condition. Overall, this car is very presentable and draws lots of praise and attention. That's it and both areas are shown in pics. A couple tiny bubbles below rear window trim on drivers side and about a quarter size area at the bottom of the right fender behind front tire. There are only 2 minor rust spots on the car. There is a spot on the tailgate and the right side of the roof behind the window where there is some slight cracks in the paint as shown in the pics. There are some minor nicks and scratches from normal use. Numbers Matching 396/375hp (L78) El Camino SS with Muncie M22 Transmission in Excellent overall condition! This Very Original El Camino SS 396 looks, runs, and drives fantastic! Its original Code 10 black paint was repainted once back in the 90's and still looks great on the very straight, solid, and original body. With some finishing touches it could be a respectable show car. This is a very presentable driver quality car. There are two layers of sound deadening material to ensure a rattle free interior. A few odds and ends including a stereo and speakers will complete the cabin. The daisy wheels and nearly new BF Goodrich tires complete the package. New front end suspension components and a Jeep Grand Cherokee power steering conversion make the El Camino steer like a modern car. CPP front spindle power disc brakes stop on a dime without pulling. Recently rebuilt and installed 700 R4 transmission in combination with a 10 bolt 3 23 gear let's this El Camino cruise down the highway. It has very strong running Corvette 350/300 HP engine with an Edelbrock manifold, Edelbrock carburetor, MSD distributor and MSD ignition box. New front and rear glass are free from pits and scratches. Nine-year-old PPG two stage prime with high glamour elear still looks like new. Any change in the octane rating did require a minor change in the timing that would take about a half hour to complete.1966 Chevrolet El Camino Fabulously straight rust body. The engine took high octane gasoline to run properly without any pings or knocks within the engine. The car had a squeak on the right rear quarter panel that used to drive me nuts when going over those bumps in the shopping center parking lots. This car was the perfect cruiser, but you had to be careful when getting on the accelerator.the backend would slide and fishtail around because there was very little weight over the rear tires. It took about a year to get everything right with this car, and when she ran, it was a dream to drive. I updated the brake system and replaced the rear drums. I added chrome wheels with copper tires, a floor shifter, new carpet, replaced the speedometer, added a tachometer and bucket seats. I added Hedman headers, a four-barrel carburetor, a heavy duty radiator and transmission cooler, a 100-amp alternator, custom distribution system with racing wires. I purchased a 1982 El Camino that I restored with a Chevy 350 crate engine and a R-700 transmission.
